Job Description: Director of Operations- Medical Devices

Build the systems. Shape the culture. Scale with purpose.

Location: Colorado, USA

We’re a fast-growing, mission-driven organisation quietly transforming how compliance, quality, and trust show up in a highly regulated professional services environment.

Our team is made up of builders — people who choose long-term impact over short-term wins, who care deeply about customers, and who believe operational excellence and human-centered leadership are not competing ideas.

“Good work” is the baseline here. What we’re building requires something rarer: leaders with humility, backbone, and the appetite to own hard problems — not for ego or title, but for the success of the team and the people we serve.

If you’re energized by building systems that scale, leading teams through change, and creating operations that are both high-performing and deeply human, keep reading.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Director of Operations to own and scale end-to-end operations across manufacturing, supply chain, fulfillment, and lab-based workflows.

This is a senior leadership role in a rapidly growing organization. You’ll be responsible for architecting systems for scale, embedding continuous improvement, and leading teams through increasing complexity — all while protecting quality, culture, and customer trust.

You’ll operate at both the strategic and hands-on level: designing long-term roadmaps while rolling up your sleeves to improve today’s processes. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional leaders and serve as a cultural anchor for operational excellence.

Within this role, success means:

  • Rapidly assessing and improving manufacturing and shipping processes, bringing clarity to labor absorption, capacity, and cost accuracy within your first 6 months
  • Embedding continuous improvement across operations, delivering meaningful cost avoidance and earnings impact over 3 years
  • Developing a high-performance operations culture, driving top-tier engagement scores and strong team retention
  • Building capacity planning models that allow the business to flex through 40% demand spikes without disruption
  • Creating a data-driven 3-year operations roadmap that improves operational costs by 10–15% without compromising quality, compliance, or team health
  • Strengthening supplier strategy by analyzing key raw material spend, pricing trends, and contract structures
  • Seamlessly integrating new or evolving products into production with best-in-class first-pass yield and launch readiness

The Leadership Toolkit You Bring

  • Strategic thinking: You translate vision into scalable systems, clear priorities, and executable plans
  • High standards: You’re not satisfied with “working” — you aim for excellence that compounds over time
  • Collaborative strength: You actively seek input and challenge, without needing consensus to move forward
  • Results-driven leadership: You build strong teams that execute consistently and thoughtfully
  • Entrepreneurial grit: You’re comfortable in ambiguity, willing to get hands-on, and resilient through setbacks

Who You Are (Beyond the Resume)

  • Humble: Team-first, self-aware, and committed to continuous growth
  • Transparent: You communicate clearly and honestly, even when it’s uncomfortable
  • Customer-centered: You keep the end user at the heart of every operational decision
  • Discerning: You make thoughtful, high-quality decisions under pressure
  • Clear-thinking: You distill complexity, explain your reasoning, and learn quickly

Working Style & Environment

This is an in-office leadership role, with a core schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.

We believe flexibility matters — life happens, and we support one another when it does. At the same time, we’re deeply intentional about culture. Senior leaders here are stewards of alignment, trust, and momentum, and that’s built best shoulder-to-shoulder with the team.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being present, engaged, and influential in the day-to-day — and who sees in-person leadership as a feature, not a compromise.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Real ownership over operations, systems, and culture
  • A values-driven leadership team with low ego and high accountability
  • The chance to help scale an emerging category through trust, quality, and execution
  • Meaningful problems that matter — to customers, teams, and the long-term business

If you’re seeking a role where operational excellence is inseparable from purpose — and where your leadership will shape both systems and people — we’d love to hear from you.
