Founders' Associate

You want to sit where the decisions are made, not where they are reported? We are looking for a Founders' Associate as the right hand to our two Managing Directors – on contracts, proposals, financials and the strategic projects that move the company.  

ABOUT ECONETIX  

Econetix is a leading carbon asset manager with offices in Vienna, Abu Dhabi and Kampala. We develop and operate more than 15 of our own climate projects across Africa and Asia, monitored with AI-based dMRV for real transparency, and we are one of the leading providers of CORSIA-eligible carbon credits for airlines, commodity traders and corporates. We are a commercial company, not an NGO: we create climate impact through a profitable, fast-growing business, and our goal is to become the largest carbon asset manager in the world.  

YOUR ROLE  

You work directly with our two Managing Directors and take on whatever is at the top of the list. Direction and context come from us, the execution is yours: contract drafts, proposals, financial models, decision papers. You are in the room for the decisions, you keep them moving afterwards, and over time you build your own remit out of the topics you are strongest in.  

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:  

CONTRACTS AND LEGAL  

• Drafting and revising the agreements our business runs on: credit offtake and purchase agreements, project and partner contracts, client contracts, NDAs and term sheets – including the reviews with our Team  
• Keeping contracts under control: redlines, versions, deadlines, obligations, signatures  
• Preparing negotiations: positions, comparison of offers, clear recommendations  

PROPOSALS AND CLIENT MATERIALS  

• Building offers, tender documents and presentations for clients, investors and project partners  
• Research with substance: market, competitor and country analyses that hold up in the pitch  

FINANCE AND INVESTORS  

• Financial models, business cases and project economics, pricing, margins, cash flows  
• Investor and board materials together with the CFO, plus support in fundraising and due diligence  

STRATEGIC PROJECTS  

• Owning special topics end to end: new markets, new products, partnerships, M&A, internal processes  
• Preparing management and board meetings and following up until decisions are done  
• Working with our teams in Abu Dhabi and Kampala and with project partners across some 15 countries, with occasional travel  
• Using AI tools (Claude in particular) to make work, research and reporting faster  

WHAT YOU BRING  

You do not need to tick every box. What matters more than a complete skill list is the motivation to get into new topics quickly.  

MUST-HAVES  

• A completed degree, ideally in law, business or finance  
• 1–3 years in a law firm, bank, Big 4, consulting, VC or a startup – strong graduates with relevant internships are welcome  
• Precision with contracts and numbers: details and deadlines do not slip past you  
• Solution-first: you come with proposals, not just problems  
• Fluent English (around 95% of the work) and good German  
• The appetite to build real carbon-market knowledge fast – standards, registries, pricing, CORSIA  
• High affinity for AI tools, and discretion in handling confidential information  

NICE TO HAVE  

• Contract drafting or negotiation experience, or solid financial modelling in Excel  
• Background in climate, ESG, CleanTech, carbon markets or commodity trading  
• Additional languages, French or Arabic in particular
