As member of the Operations Insights, Planning, Analytics and Technology (IPAT) team, this position will support Monthly Reporting to provide insight to leadership and improve Cost To Serve.

This is a high profile role within the Ops IPAT Finance team that interacts regularly with the Stores Finance Leadership team, along with a broad portfolio of Business unit FP&A leads, product teams, and Corporate and Investor Relations FP&A. The role focuses on insight analysis and process improvement, working with tech and business unit FP&A teams to create, adopt, and implement new tools for FP&A processes.

Key job responsibilities

  •  Create and maintain insightful reporting and bridging for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tables
  •  Lead ad hoc analysis and projects to drive strategic leadership initiatives
  •  Thought leadership to identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
  •  Partner with other FP&A teams worldwide to produce standard reporting and forecasting mechanisms, drive process standardization, prioritize improvements that increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
  •  Make thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from manager

Basic Qualifications

  •  5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  •  5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  •  5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  •  5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  •  Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  •  6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  •  6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  •  MBA, or CPA
  •  Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  •  Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  •  Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
