Job Description:

A dynamic and sophisticated private family based in New York is seeking an experienced Family Chief of Staff to serve as the central point of leadership across their personal and household operations. This high-touch role requires a polished, proactive professional with exceptional emotional intelligence, strong leadership abilities, and a refined attention to detail.

The position is primarily based in Manhattan, with weekly summer travel to the Hamptons and 2–3 trips per year to Aspen.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience supporting a high-net-worth individual or family in a senior operational or household leadership role. You will act as a trusted right hand to the principal, ensuring the seamless coordination of family logistics, household operations, and staff oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic and operational hub for the family, managing daily logistics and long-term planning
  • Oversee and manage a full household staff across multiple properties, including scheduling, training, performance oversight, and issue resolution
  • Manage complex personal and family calendars, including social, school, and travel-related commitments
  • Coordinate extensive personal and family travel (private and commercial), including accommodations, itineraries, and on-the-ground logistics
  • Act as liaison for all vendors, service providers, and contractors; ensure exceptional standards of service and discretion are maintained
  • Execute high-level personal errands, secure dinner reservations and appointments, oversee gifting
  • Lead and execute special projects and events, ensuring no detail is overlooked

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8+ years in a high-level support or household operations role for a private family or principal
  • Proven experience managing household staff and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and the ability to read a room and adapt accordingly
  • Impeccable organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Tech-savvy, resourceful, and solution-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort with driving when needed
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically, including weekly summer travel to the Hamptons and a few annual trips to Aspen

Location: 

Manhattan, NY (with travel to the Hamptons and Aspen)  

Schedule  

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm  

Compensation:  

$150–175k DOE + benefits + bonus opportunity
