Chief of Staff (Strategy and Operations)

About Codeway

Codeway started in 2020 as a small team in Istanbul to build apps people would actually enjoy using. Today our 60+ apps, including Cleanup, Retake AI and Learna AI, have reached more than 600 million users. We're 400+ people across Barcelona and Istanbul, at $400M+ ARR, profitable and self-funded the whole way. We recently started a new global HQ in Barcelona and reorganised into verticals: business units that operate like focused product companies, alongside a shared HQ. Small teams, real ownership, and decisions measured in days, not quarters.

The role

You'd work directly with our Founding Partner & VP, in close contact with our CEO, our vertical leaders, and teams across Finance, Legal, HR, TA, Global Mobility, Workplace and Brand.

It's a wide seat, and it suits someone sharp and low-ego. Some weeks it's how we plan and where our people and money go. Some weeks it's how we grow and reward the people who move the company, or how Codeway tells its story. Always the things that belong to everyone and so often to no one. You'll often be the one connecting teams, translating between them and helping them land on a decision, and that has to sit well with you.

You won't start with a team. The scope grows as you do, and if it works, we see this becoming a leadership role across Codeway.

Who we're hoping to meet

Background

• You've spent a few years in strategy, operations or a CEO's office, ideally in hypergrowth, close enough to a founder or CEO to have owned real outcomes, not just advised on them.
• You've worked across countries and cultures, and an international team feels like home.
• You're AI-native. You'd fit right into our teams, and you probably already have a few agents of your own up and running.

How you work

• You pair exceptional analytical rigor with clear writing, and you can have the hard conversation with both care and honesty.
• You make the people around you stronger. You can step into someone else's area without anyone feeling stepped on, and still get the decision made.
• You're curious before anyone asks, and you tend to have a view on a product or a team before you've been formally introduced.

Before you apply

Codeway is a demanding place. We're ambitious, we hold ourselves and each other to a high bar, and this role asks for significant commitment. In return, most people here learn and grow faster than they expected to.

This probably isn't the right role if

• You're looking for a well-defined job description or a predictable week.
• You'd rather work mostly remote.
• You need regular recognition to stay motivated.
• You take it personally when work you've invested in gets redirected or deprioritised.

What we offer

• A competitive compensation package. Long story short, we take care of you.
• A meal compensation. That is actually enough for a decent & nutritious lunch, we’re not following the industry standard.
• Full health benefits. To keep you away from all the trouble, we provide unlimited private health insurance and cover the HPV vaccine.
• Pet adoption support. We cover the primary healthcare expenses, parasite vaccinations, and microchip costs that may arise within the first year after employees adopt a pet.
• Cool tech stack. Macbook, iPhone 15 Pro, magic mouse, magic keyboard; an adjustable desk with a 4K screen and any other gadget you may need in your job.
• Sport activities support. We care about your physical wellbeing and support your gym membership.
• Flexible schedule. This isn’t a “clock in, clock out” company. We care about your productivity, not tracking every minute you’re on site. It’s up to you to always be responsible with your work, no matter where you are or what schedule you’re keeping.
• English course support. Be more global and perform best at your work.
• A top-notch office. Located at the heart of Barcelona in the iconic Edifici Estel.
• Codebrew. Yes, you’ve heard it right: We love coffee so much that we’ve built our own coffee shop inside our office, where we also provide healthy snacks at all hours.
• Free breakfast & lunch. At Codebrew - every day.
• No dress code. Dress as you like.
• Dream team. Average Codeway member is young, talented, and passionate - which makes our working environment extremely dynamic. Need proof? Take a look at our Instagram.
• Gaming area. Whenever you need to take a break from hard work and relax with your favourite games, our PS5 corner will be waiting for you.
• Software support. Subscription to any software you might need to perform at your best.
• Public transportation support. Daily public transportation support is on us, covered by an additional monthly compensation.

A last note

We're being a little shy here on purpose. There's a lot more we'd love to tell you in person. If you've looked at what Codeway has built and what this role touches, you've probably already sensed the size of the challenge. Let’s meet if that excites you.

And if your CV doesn't tick every box but this still sounds like you, apply anyway. We'd be more than happy to assess your application still.
