CLO Compliance / Operations Manager
A leading credit-focused investment manager is seeking an experienced CLO Compliance & Operations Manager to oversee the firm’s CLO compliance platform and lead a team of operations professionals. This role combines hands-on operational oversight with strategic leadership and will be critical to maintaining the integrity, scalability, and continued growth of the firm’s CLO business.
This position is ideal for a candidate with deep experience in CLO compliance, structured credit operations, and indenture monitoring, along with a proven ability to manage teams and improve operational processes within a fast-paced investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compliance and operations professionals, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Oversee CLO compliance processes including coverage tests, hypothetical trade testing, warehouse tracking, and deal closings to ensure adherence to indenture requirements.
- Partner closely with the CLO Portfolio Manager and structuring team to conduct compliance analysis, trade testing, and portfolio impact assessments.
- Own and enhance operational procedures related to CLO compliance, reconciliations, and reporting to support the continued scaling of the platform.
- Supervise reconciliation of trustee reports and CLO waterfalls, ensuring accuracy of portfolio data including ratings, spreads, amortizations, and related metrics.
- Maintain and improve projection models for waterfall and equity distribution analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Trading, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to resolve issues, strengthen controls, and support new CLO issuance.
- Contribute strategically to the continued development of the firm’s CLO compliance infrastructure and operational capabilities.
Qualifications
- 7–12 years of experience in structured finance, ideally within a CLO manager, credit asset manager, or structured products platform.
- Strong understanding of CLO indentures, compliance tests, and trustee reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams.
- Highly analytical with a focus on operational excellence and process improvement.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Wall Street Office or loan settlement systems is a plus.
