Senior Director/VP, Sales Operations
Job Description:

They are positioned to commercialize a first-of-its-kind treatment in Q3 2026, with a broad pipeline addressing other high-need orphan diseases.
The Opportunity
This is a foundational Sales Operations leadership role, responsible for building and scaling the commercial operations function ahead of a first launch. As a Senior Director/VP, you will operate as both a strategic partner to Commercial leadership and a hands-on builder, owning the development of core infrastructure, analytics, and operating cadence that enable field execution.
You will play a critical role in shaping how Sales Operations is defined within the organization, partnering closely with the Physician Sales team, Finance, and broader Commercial leadership to drive performance, accountability, and insight generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Stand up and lead the Sales Operations function in advance of a 2026 product launch
- Define and implement core infrastructure across reporting, forecasting, CRM, and performance tracking
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and operating cadence to drive field effectiveness and accountability
- Translate complex data into actionable insights to support Commercial decision-making
- Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, and leadership teams on planning and performance
- Support territory design, field force structure, and resource allocation strategies
- Contribute to incentive compensation design and performance measurement frameworks
- Act as a strategic thought partner while remaining deeply involved in execution and analytics
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Sales / Commercial Operations within Pharma or Biotech
- Proven ability to lead Sales Operations in a launch or pre-launch environment
- Deep, hands-on experience working directly with data (pulling, manipulating, and deriving insights)
- Strong background in forecasting, CRM-driven reporting, and field performance analytics
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to build from the ground up and operate with ambiguity
- Cultural alignment: scrappy, thoughtful, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rare disease or orphan drug markets
- Prior commercial launch experience in a small or emerging biotech setting
- Exposure to incentive compensation design (ownership or close partnership)
- Familiarity with AI, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics approaches
- Experience shaping territory design and field force structure
Ideal Profile
- A builder who can operate at both strategic and executional levels without relying on established playbooks
- Comfortable leading as an individual contributor initially, with the potential to scale a team over time
- Strong cross-functional collaborator, particularly with Commercial and Finance
- Highly analytical, with the ability to independently generate insights that influence decision-making
- Adaptable and pragmatic, with a bias toward action in ambiguous environments
