Senior Analyst - Finance Operations & Analytics

The Opportunity

A growing insurance firm is hiring a Sr. Analyst, Finance Operations & Analytics to serve as a hands-on analytical partner across its Finance function. This is an individual contributor role for someone who wants to go beyond completing the task in front of them, someone who validates the data, understands the process behind it, and leaves every workpaper and analysis better than they found it. You'll work across policy billing, cash application, accounts receivable, collections, and claims-payment workflows, with real visibility into how Finance decisions get made.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyzing end-to-end Finance activity (billing, refunds, cash application, AR, collections, claims payments), monitoring volumes, aging, turnaround times, and exception rates to catch issues early
• Reconciling operational reports and source-system data to the general ledger, investigating discrepancies, and supporting month-end and quarter-end close with accurate schedules and variance explanations
• Building and improving KPIs, dashboards, and recurring reporting packages that increase visibility and speed up decision-making
• Partnering with Financial Reporting, Treasury, Internal Controls, IT, and business teams to resolve data and process gaps, and supporting Finance system implementations through requirements gathering, testing, and reconciliation

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance operations, accounting, FP&A, or finance analytics (ideally with exposure to insurance, regulated financial services, or high-volume transaction environments.)
• Advanced in Excel, comfortable in PowerPoint, and you understand financial statements, GL data, close processes, and internal controls at a level that lets you spot what's wrong, not just what's asked.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or ERP systems is a plus, as is a CPA, MBA, or Lean Six Sigma background.
• You work independently, communicate clearly, and you close the loop on things instead of letting them drift.
