Job Description:

This candidate will be responsible for leading a small, fast-paced product team, and overall building a clean and effective user experience for our customers. By working cross-functionally, this candidate will understand needs from the product management, engineering, and business stakeholders and will be able to build solutions that fit those needs. The candidate will supervise a team of engineers and designers. This role is an ongoing part-time contract salary for 10-15 hours per week with pre-scheduled meetings and touch-points through the week including the following availability:

Monday

Availability from to for a scheduled leadership meeting and operations meeting: 2 hours, 10am-12pm Pacific time  

Tuesday

2 hours, 12pm -2:30pm for a Staff meeting, directors meeting, and finance/fundraising discussion  

Wednesday - Friday  

remainder of contracted hours with daily check-ins  

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience with proven ability to design tasks and manage the overall design and development process for product operations team. Each week you will be responsible for presenting a Testflight demo to leadership detailing the progress from the previous week.  
  • Must Have Front and Backend Development Experience  
  • Located in PST  
  • 5+ years of experience designing mobile applications for iOS and Android devices.  
  • Interaction design experience with experience integrating user feedback from usability testing. Proficiency in typography, UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function  
  • Experience with Information architecture and integrating conceptual business ideas and goals into wireframes  
  • Ability to prototype for usability testing.  
  • Ability to develop and benchmark production goals for state-of-the-art mobile app  
  • Expertise in Figma and other leading interface design platforms  
  • Experience with leading software developer tools including AWS, firebase, React Native, Apple Developer etc

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience supervising teams of designers and/or developers  
  • Experience with social media apps where users are actively engaging with one another  
  • Experience with healthtech apps that include tracking and displaying data and insights  
  • Service design experience- especially with notification systems

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions in collaboration with other team directors  
  • Contribute to strategic decisions around the direction of MUUD's product operations  
  • Manage product development goals and timelines.  
  • Engage with product management, engineering, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to interprets and convey project requirements  
  • Develop and present documentation, user flows, annotated wireframes, and interactive prototypes  
  • Displaying changes to wireframes weekly and collaborate with founder and software development to make sure designs are meeting technical and business requirements  
  • Communicating clearly about design iterations and ability to accurately create time estimates for design work.  
  • Translating broad, challenging ideas into elegant and tangible wireframes.

Note

  • There are required meetings scheduled during business hours with the leadership team, and division. Daily communication and check-ins with your team are required.

Interview Process

  • If selected, you will be required to present your portfolio and participate in an interview with the Executive Operations Director and CEO.
