People Operations Specialist

1. About the Opportunity:
The People Operations Specialist plays a critical role in managing employee lifecycle processes, ensuring accurate data management, and supporting compliance with policies and regulations. This position serves as a subject matter expert for North America while partnering with cross-functional teams globally. The role is essential for maintaining operational consistency within People Operations and enhancing the overall employee experience.
1. Responsibilities:
• Process employee lifecycle transactions such as hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, and terminations using Workday and other systems
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity with regular audits
• Provide guidance to ensure consistent adherence to employee lifecycle procedures
• Manage US workers’ compensation codes and coordinate insurance filings
• Maintain employment document templates and coordinate annual legal reviews
• Respond to escalated inquiries regarding People Team policies and systems
• Support compliance through recordkeeping and audit responses
• Serve as a North America subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with employment standards and policies
• Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits teams for accurate employee updates
• Generate standard and ad hoc reports from Workday for operational and compliance purposes
• Document and improve People Operations workflows and system use
• Assist in training and onboarding junior People Team members
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent People Team practices
• Support additional tasks or projects as assigned by management
1. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
• Minimum three years of Human Resources experience
• Strong knowledge of US and Canada employment laws, benefits, payroll, and People Operations processes
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment with confidential information
• Ability to identify process improvements aligned with business and People Team needs
• Highly organized with attention to detail and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in Workday reporting and employee lifecycle transactions
• Strong collaboration skills to build positive cross-team relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Familiarity with ADP, Confluence, and Jira preferred
• Project management experience in People initiatives preferred
• Experience in regulated industries preferred
• Basic knowledge of SOX compliance related to People processes preferred
• Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally
1. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Pay range: $60,000—$70,000 USD
• Compensation varies by experience, skills, and location
• Total compensation includes base pay, benefits, and bonuses
• Location-based compensation considerations apply for candidates outside the US
