- Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.

About The Role
The HR Operations team is engaged in the administration of a broad range of HR activities associated with the employee lifecycle. The team acts as the first point of contact for queries from managers and staff across the company and also provides a comprehensive administrative support service to the HR team, supporting all projects undertaken with the HR Department.
As the HR Operations Team Lead at Lambda, you will be responsible for leading the provision of a high quality and responsive HR Service, maintaining accurate data in the HRIS and automating workflows, and optimizing existing HR processes for scalability, sustainability, and simplicity .
What You’ll Do
- Champion Lambda’s culture, company mission, purpose and values to all team members
- Lead HR Operations team (one direct report) to deliver excellent HR operations customer service
- Establish, update, and enforce company policies
- Assume ownership of the new hire onboarding experience including all pre-boarding communications, day one activities coordination, and seamless cultural immersion
- Maintain up-to-date digital files / records for employees in shared HR drive, as well as HRIS’, and other knowledge management tools
- Execute and oversee payroll and benefit administration
- Act as a main point of contact for all employees for HR, Benefits, and policy related questions via the HR shared email and or ticketing system
- Ensure all federal/state/city required posters (wages, FMLA, CFRA, etc.) are posted onsite
- Support compliance with regulatory annual filings, reportings, and employee communications
- Be the departmental lead for designated compliance areas such as immigration as well internal and external compliance audits
- Implement and optimize HR ticketing system
- Maintain documentation of all HR standard operating procedures
- Execute and oversee all rotating employee check-ins to manage employee advocacy and conflict resolution
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned
You
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (1 year of work experience for every school year)
- Have 8-10 years of experience in HR Operations roles
- Have 5+ years of experience in people management
- Have proficiency in instructional design for in-person, virtual, and on-demand formats
- Have excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Can maintain high degrees of integrity handling sensitive and confidential information daily
- Have proficiency in establishing, implementing, and enforcing company policies
- Have the ability to collaborate, navigate ambiguity, and adapt to change, and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Have strong relationship building and networking skills
- Can manage ambiguity across multiple priorities and to know when to escalate issues for final resolution
Nice to Have
- Experience in the technology industry
- Start-up and / or remote environment experience
- Fluency with Rippling, Jira, and Google Workspace
Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $237,000 - $338,000 per year. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
