Job Description Summary

The Compliance & Employee Relations HR Leader is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of employee relations policies, processes, and trainings that help mitigate business risk and proactively support and maintain a positive employment climate. In addition, the Employee Relations leader will manage the GEHC USCAN workplace investigations COE contributing to a positive work environment that balances employee rights and responsibilities.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Establish HR audit plan & processes to proactively identify and address gaps/issues
  • Effectively and efficiently conduct Spirit & The Letter Respectful Workplace investigations. Coordinate all other investigation assignments, ensuring timely investigation, consistent corrective actions, and timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Identify trends with investigations and create appropriate education/process improvements
  • Provide HR Partners coaching and support on complex employee relations issues such as performance management, discipline, terminations etc.
  • Develop and implement new and effective Employee Relations strategies, processes, procedures, and templates in conjunction with Labor Relations leader and team
  • Provide advice and guidance to other HR professionals, employees, and managers in areas of compliance and HR policy
  • Manage the development and implementation of annual Affirmative Action Plans (AAPs). 
  • Manage processes related to and prepare and support effective agency responses (EEO, FEHA, etc.) in conjunction with legal counsel
  • Develop, plan, implement and monitor company-wide and role-specific training in the areas of Preventing Harassment, Employment Law & Policy updates, etc.
  • Participate in key policy reviews and recommend actions to help clarify and simplify procedures
  • Help develop and review sound restructuring processes in partnership with HR Business Partners, and L&E Counsel
  • Effectively lead Employee Relations projects and may participate on cross-functional project teams with other members of HR or other functions
  • Represent HR function in Level I and II ADR meetings
  • Lead a team of employee relation professionals focused on workplace investigations and development of Affirmative Action Plans

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university 
  • 8+ years relevant work experience in HR; minimum 5 years of previous experience in Human Resource Manager/Human Resource Business Partnership positions
  • Experience working in a global mid-large sized, matrixed organization. 
  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and/or substantial work experience in client HR roles. 
  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, coaching and assessing leadership talent, and effectively interfacing with senior-level business leaders

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $139,200.00-$208,800.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
