Job Description:

The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) and United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) are seeking a New York City–based candidate to serve as head of finance and operations for both organizations. This position plays a key role in managing administrative operations, vendor coordination, internal systems, and office processes that support CEP's and UANI’s work.

CEP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which works to combat extremist groups and ideologies by pressuring financial support networks; countering the narrative of extremists and their online recruitment; and advocating for strong laws, policies and regulations. UANI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and non-partisan policy organization formed to combat the threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. UANI's diverse Advisory Board includes policy experts and distinguished former government officials. Both CEP and UANI are based in New York City.

CEP's and UANI’s Head of Finance & Operations will have the opportunity to make meaningful, direct contributions to a diverse array of policy, research, and advocacy initiatives, in collaboration with world-leading counter-extremism and Iran practitioners and experts.

Areas of work include:

· Management of CEP and UANI’s budget, financial flows, funder and donor communication

· Support CEP's and UANI’s accountant with necessary reporting and auditing requirements

· Handle organizational mail and phone duties through virtual phone system

· Provide general administrative support to senior leadership

· Track and document subscriptions, recurring charges, and other expenses for accounting purposes

· Serve as a liaison with external service providers

· Support operational aspects of staff onboarding, including:

  • Coordinating email setup with IT provider, procuring new devices
  • Assisting new staff with initial access and basic system orientation
  • Provide support for ADP TotalSource management

· Identify opportunities to improve internal workflows, documentation, and administrative processes

Requirements

· Immediate start preferred

· This role is based in New York City, no relocation allowance available

· Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in financial management and audit

· 2–4 years of experience in administrative, operations, or office management roles, preferably in a nonprofit, research, policy, or advocacy setting

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple recurring responsibilities

· Experience working with vendors and external service providers

· Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and basic website content management systems

· Strong written communication skills and professional judgment

· Commitment to supporting mission‑driven work with discretion and reliability
