Job Description:
Location: Rocky Mount, North Carolina (On-site / Hybrid)
Travel: Up to 15% (domestic and international)
Area: Finance, Accounting & Tax
Reports to: General Manager
Work Modality: On-site / Hybrid
At Stretchline, we are looking for a finance professional with strong technical expertise, a detail-oriented mindset, and advanced English proficiency to join our team in the United States as Finance Manager – U.S. Operations. Reporting to the General Manager, this role holds full responsibility for all financial, accounting, tax, and compliance functions of the U.S. entity, serving as the primary financial partner to senior leadership and the corporation.
This is an operational leadership role that goes beyond reporting: the Finance Manager personally executes and oversees the full accounting cycle — from daily journal entries and bank reconciliations to monthly close, tax filings, payroll validation, inventory control, cost accounting, and statutory reporting. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and federal/state tax compliance with the executive presence needed to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
Purpose of the Role
The Finance Manager – U.S. Operations is responsible for leading all financial and accounting operations for Stretchline Holdings Ltd.'s U.S. entity, including the full accounting cycle, cost accounting, inventory control, tax compliance, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, budgeting, internal controls, and financial reporting. The role ensures accurate, timely financial information in compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate objectives.
This position requires a technically strong, process-oriented finance leader with expertise in U.S. accounting and tax regulations, ERP systems, and the ability to work independently while effectively communicating financial results to senior management and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Full Accounting Cycle & General Ledger
• Manage the General Ledger: maintain the chart of accounts, post period-end closing entries, and ensure all accounts are properly documented and supported.
• Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process on time, with zero major reworks due to accounting errors or post-close adjustments.
• Perform and supervise monthly bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, sub-ledgers, and ERP modules; identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Deliver monthly management reporting packages to the General Manager, including variance analysis, trend commentary, and financial risk alerts.
• Actively participate in financial presentations to the Board and the corporation, providing narrative and supporting data to explain financial results.
• Propose and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows to enhance efficiency, traceability, and risk mitigation.
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
• Manage and maintain the standard costing system, including review of Bills of Materials (BOM), labor rate determination, and overhead allocation.
• Analyze production costs, variances (price, volume, efficiency), and overhead absorption; provide actionable cost-reduction recommendations to operations management.
• Perform margin analysis by product and profitability reporting by product line, customer, or business unit.
Inventory Control & Internal Controls
• Oversee inventory valuation using applicable methodologies (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost) in strict compliance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 330).
• Lead and coordinate physical inventory counts (annual and cycle counts); investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records, maintaining a minimum accuracy of 98%.
• Maintain adequate internal controls over inventory movements: receipts, transfers, adjustments, write-offs, and obsolescence reserves; reconcile the inventory sub-ledger with the General Ledger monthly.
• Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and supply chain to ensure inventory records are accurate and up to date; monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
U.S. Tax Compliance & Filings
• Manage full compliance with all U.S. federal, state, and local tax obligations: corporate income tax, sales & use tax, property tax, and payroll taxes — zero penalties or surcharges for administrative non-compliance.
• Coordinate with external CPA firms and tax advisors on the preparation and filing of federal (Form 1120 / 1120-S) and state income tax returns; manage all correspondence, notices, and responses to IRS and state tax authority audits.
• Prepare and record the income tax provision under ASC 740 (current and deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions); maintain complete, audit-ready workpapers.
• Monitor changes in federal and state tax legislation and assess financial impact; support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany compliance in coordination with the corporate tax function.
Payroll Oversight & Labor Compliance
• Review and validate weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll calculations: gross pay, overtime, deductions, tax withholdings (federal and state), benefits, and garnishments — 100% accuracy, zero material corrections.
• Ensure correct accounting and posting of payroll and accruals in the General Ledger (vacation, PTO, bonuses, severance); reconcile payroll system records with the General Ledger monthly.
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Treasury
• Oversee the AP process: invoice validation, three-way match (PO / receipt / invoice), coding, approval workflow, and timely vendor payment; oversee the AR process: customer invoicing, collections, dispute resolution, and credit management.
• Manage daily cash position and short-term liquidity planning; prepare 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts; reconcile all bank accounts monthly and manage banking relationships.
• Monitor AP and AR aging; optimize working capital metrics: DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), DPO (Days Payable Outstanding), and inventory turnover.
Fixed Assets, Depreciation & Lease Accounting
• Maintain the fixed asset register: capitalization, transfers, disposals, and impairment review in accordance with ASC 360; calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization (straight-line for GAAP / MACRS for tax purposes).
• Manage lease accounting under ASC 842: identify, classify, measure, and disclose operating and finance leases; reconcile the fixed asset register with the General Ledger monthly.
Internal Controls, Audit & Regulatory Compliance
• Design, implement, and monitor a robust internal controls framework to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information; ensure SOX compliance requirements are met where applicable.
• Coordinate and lead 100% of internal and external audits (accounting, tax, and operational); serve as the primary contact with auditors, compile supporting documentation, validate figures, and define corrective action plans with closure within 30 calendar days of notification.
• Maintain a critical audit observation rate of ≤5%; identify control gaps and implement process improvements to strengthen financial integrity and reduce operational risk.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasting, coordinating inputs from all areas; develop financial models and scenario analyses (base, optimistic, pessimistic) to support strategic decision-making.
• Track and report actual vs. budget performance monthly; deliver written variance explanations and corrective action recommendations within 5 business days of close.
• Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, analysis, and post-investment review; assist in payroll budget preparation and labor cost monitoring.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required); Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA (preferred).
• U.S. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification highly preferred; CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle for a U.S. entity (GL, AP/AR, payroll, tax, and close); proven track record in cost accounting within a manufacturing or production company.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. tax system: federal and state income tax, sales & use tax, payroll taxes (Form 941/940, W-2, ACA), and ASC 740 tax provision; understanding of transfer pricing principles.
• Advanced Excel (financial models, pivot tables, Power Query); ERP proficiency: Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365; experience with tax software (CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, Avalara), payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, Paylocity), and AI tools.
• Experience in a multinational or global corporate structure is highly preferred.
Language Requirements
• Native or bilingual English is an absolute requirement — professional corporate-level written and verbal English communication skills are non-negotiable for this role.

• Cross-functional collaboration and organizational influence
• Integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics
