Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director to join our Shared Services leadership team. The ideal candidate brings a proven record of leading high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering results across complex, multi-functional environments. As Director of IDR Integrity Services (IDRIS), you will have executive oversight of departments spanning Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) integrity, revenue cycle management (RCM), accounts receivable (AR) collections, payor strategy, verification of benefits, and operational infrastructure. You will serve as a key partner to senior leadership in shaping and executing the organization's operational and compliance strategy under the No Surprises Act (NSA) and related federal/state frameworks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight across multiple functional departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and individual contributors, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Own and drive end-to-end RCM AR collections strategy, including aging management, denial resolution, payer escalation workflows, and recovery optimization.
  • Develop and execute payor strategy, including payer relationship management, contract interpretation, reimbursement policy analysis, and dispute resolution positioning.
  • Direct IDR operational workflows under the NSA Federal IDR process and applicable state dispute resolution frameworks, ensuring case quality, throughput, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics; drive data-informed decisions to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and operational playbooks across all functional areas.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Client Success, Technology, Billing, and Compliance teams to align departmental operations with enterprise priorities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex IDR, NSA, RCM, and payor-related issues.
  • Partner with VP leadership on strategic initiatives, workforce planning, technology roadmap, and automation opportunities.
  • Oversee resource allocation, staffing models, and capacity planning to support scalable, efficient operations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory mandates, and industry standards including CMS guidelines, NSA regulations, and applicable state laws.

Skills and Specialized Knowledge

Leadership & Strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire diverse, geographically distributed teams.
  • Proven track record of translating organizational strategy into actionable operational plans.
  • Skilled at executive-level communication, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management.

Revenue Cycle & Payor Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of RCM end-to-end workflows including AR management, denial management, payment posting, and collections strategy.
  • Strong understanding of payor reimbursement models, Qualified Payment Amounts (QPA), ERISA/self-funded plan structures, and payer behavior patterns.
  • Experience developing and executing payor strategy to optimize reimbursement outcomes and reduce AR aging.
  • Familiarity with CARC/RARC code interpretation and EOB analysis in the NSA/IDR context.

NSA / IDR Domain Knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the No Surprises Act (NSA) and Federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process, required.
  • Familiarity with state-specific dispute resolution frameworks and bifurcation rules for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of IDR eligibility criteria, open negotiation timelines, and Technical Assistance (TA) requirements.

Operational & Analytical

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, training curricula, and process documentation.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement certification preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI for operational reporting and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and familiarity with case management platforms (e.g., Arbit) and EHR/RCM systems.
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL, or other data environments a plus.

Education and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, healthcare operations, or a directly related field.
  • 5+ years in a management or leadership role, with demonstrated experience overseeing managers and multi-functional teams.
  • Experience in NSA/IDR operations, payor contracting strategy, or AR collections leadership strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree; advanced degree (MBA, MHA) preferred.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.

Work Environment

Fully remote work environment - Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage a distributed team, and collaborate effectively in a group or virtual team setting. Occasional travel may be required for leadership meetings, client engagements, or company events.
