About Conway Christian School

Conway Christian School is an accredited, private Christian school where courses are taught from a Biblical perspective. Our mission is to connect students with Christ and His mission, leading them to achieve excellent outcomes. We are a family rooted in faith, emotional and spiritual health, and academic excellence.

Interested in joining the CCS family? We invite you to be part of our ministry.

Position Summary

We are seeking a spiritually mature, operationally excellent, and strategically minded Director of Operations to lead and manage the non-instructional functions of Conway Christian School in a remote capacity. In this newly structured role, you will oversee finance, human resources, facilities coordination, compliance, and administrative systems, working closely with the Head of School, Board of Directors, and school leadership. Your work will enable our teachers and staff to focus on what matters most: connecting students with Christ and His mission.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of the school, including finance, HR, facilities, transportation, and food services (coordinating with on-site staff).
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems that support efficiency, transparency, and excellence.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Head of School and Board of Directors on operational matters.

Financial Management

  • Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and tuition billing in partnership with FACTS.
  • Ensure financial compliance with non-profit accounting standards and state regulations.

Human Resources & Compliance

  • Manage remote and on-site HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with South Carolina employment laws, accreditation standards, and the school's non-discriminatory policy.
  • Maintain personnel files and facilitate professional development for staff.

Facilities & Vendor Coordination (Remote Oversight)

  • Coordinate with on-site maintenance staff and vendors to ensure campus safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
  • Manage contracts for cleaning, security, landscaping, and technology services.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness plans and safety protocols.

Technology & Systems Management

  • Lead the use of FACTS, Google Workspace, and other school management systems.
  • Ensure secure remote access for staff and data integrity.

Board & Committee Support

  • Prepare operational reports for Board meetings.
  • Serve as staff liaison to relevant board committees (finance, building & grounds, etc.).

Strategic Planning

  • Partner with the Head of School to implement the school's long-term strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities for operational cost savings and revenue enhancement.

What We Are Looking For

  • You must be able to articulate your faith and demonstrate spiritual maturity.

A passion for connecting students with Christ and His mission

  • You hold yourself and others to high standards of professionalism and accountability.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in operations, administration, or management (school or nonprofit experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with FACTS (or similar SIS/ERP systems), Google Workspace, and remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, Asana).
  • Strong financial literacy (budgeting, reporting, internal controls).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote leadership.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or M.Ed. in Educational Leadership).
  • Experience working in a private Christian school or faith-based nonprofit.
