Director of Finance – Operations

Job Description:

A well-established U.S. manufacturer is conducting a confidential search for a seasoned finance leader to oversee financial operations across multiple production sites. This role plays a critical part in supporting plant performance, driving margin improvement, and aligning finance with broader operational goals.

Position Overview:

The Director of Finance will oversee and support several plant controllers while working closely with corporate finance leadership. The focus is on cost modeling, volume analysis, pricing impacts, and operational financial strategy.

Responsibilities 

• Lead financial oversight and strategy across a network of manufacturing facilities  

• Analyze plant-level performance, COGS, pricing variations, and profitability  

• Partner with site controllers to strengthen forecasts, reporting, and controls  

• Provide insight into volume trends and operational cost drivers  

• Collaborate with corporate and field leadership to align financial objectives  

• Support continuous improvement and best practice sharing between locations

Qualifications 

• Background in high-volume manufacturing  

• Strong foundation in cost and operational finance  

• Experience managing multi-site teams  

• Industry experience in packaging, paper, corrugated, or similar preferred but not required  

• Ability to translate data into actionable insights at both site and enterprise levels

Location:

The position can be based in several of the company's key operational hubs across the Central and Eastern U.S. Some regular travel will be required.
