Purpose

ZEPHYRx is a fast-growing Technology Enabled Services company transforming how Healthcare, Clinical Trials and Research operate through cutting-edge cloud technology. Our platform is a comprehensive end-to-end respiratory cloud solution that seamlessly integrates best-in-class medical respiratory measurement devices with wraparound clinical and support services. We’re scaling rapidly and looking for an experienced operational leader to help us build the infrastructure, processes, and teams that will take us to the next stage of growth.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, scaling the business, and ensuring that strategic objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, execution-focused leader who has successfully built and optimized operations within a SaaS or technology-driven environment.

The COO will report directly to the CEO, owning key areas of the business (Logistics, Technical Services, Technical Support and Project Management).

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s long-term strategy and operational roadmap.  
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable KPIs.  
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales and Finance.

Operational Excellence

  • Build and refine scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure to support rapid growth and customer expansion.  
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring departments are performing efficiently and effectively.  
  • Implement metrics and dashboards for performance management, forecasting, and continuous improvement.

Financial and Business Management

  • Collaborate with Finance to manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and monitor operational costs.  
  • Drive profitability and ensure efficient use of capital as the company scales.  
  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and board communications as needed.

Team Leadership and Culture  

  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams; promote accountability, collaboration, and a results-driven culture.  
  • Foster a culture of transparency, innovation, and customer-centricity.

Customer and Market Focus  

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through operational improvements and alignment with customer success goals.  
  • Identify market opportunities, operational risks, and emerging trends that impact growth and scalability.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior operations or general management role within a SaaS or technology enabled services company.  
  • Preferred: Clinical trial & Clinical Research operational delivery experience (Platform & Hardware)  
  • Preferred: Healthcare operational delivery experience (Platform & Hardware)  
  • Deep understanding of SaaS and/or technology enabled services business models, recurring revenue metrics, and customer lifecycle management.  
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen; experience using data to drive decision-making.  
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.  
  • Experience building and leading distributed or remote-first teams (preferred).  
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Time Commitment: Full-time  
  • Report To: CEO  
  • Travel: As needed (10-15%)  
  • Physical Demands: While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to speak and hear, sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.

Annual Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
