Onyx is a fast-growing, venture-backed social sports prediction platform. As user activity has scaled quickly, we’re expanding the team to support platform discrepancies and day-to-day operations.
Founded by Harvard graduates with a background at Jane Street, Onyx is headquartered in downtown Manhattan. This role is in-office.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, strategic, and execution-focused Chief of Staff to work directly alongside the CEO on high-priority initiatives across the company. This role will serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the CEO, helping drive cross-functional alignment, improve internal processes, and ensure critical initiatives move efficiently from concept to execution.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced startup environments where priorities evolve quickly. This person will operate as a trusted partner to the CEO, helping manage organizational priorities, streamline communication, and support decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the CEO to drive strategic initiatives and company-wide operational priorities
- Act as an extension of the CEO to improve communication, alignment, and execution across departments
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional projects across product, engineering, operations, marketing, analytics, and business development teams
- Track company goals, strategic initiatives, and KPIs to ensure accountability and progress across the organization
- Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, and updates for leadership meetings, investors, and external stakeholders
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable systems and processes to improve execution and communication
- Support hiring, onboarding, recruiting coordination, and broader organizational initiatives as the company continues to scale
- Assist the CEO with special projects, partnerships, and other high-impact business initiatives as needed
- Help maintain organizational focus and ensure CEO priorities are clearly communicated and effectively executed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in consulting, operations, project management, strategy, startup operations, investment banking, or a related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Experience at a startup, technology company, sports company, or high-growth environment is strongly preferred
- Interest in sports analytics, predictive technology, or sports media is a plus

Location
This role is based full-time in our NoHo office in New York City and is in person.

Compensation
100,000 – 180,000 USD, based on experience and qualifications.
