Primary Objectives
The Brand and Product Management (BPM) team is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all aspects of the Product Development lifecycle, including licensee training and on-boarding, efficient processing of Product submissions in the Online Product Approval System (OPA), accurate capture of Product data and robust analytics, contractual compliance, and safety and manufacturing compliance. This role has high interaction with a broad array of Disney groups (Creative PD, Licensing, Finance, Legal, Credit and Collections, ILS, etc), as well as Disney’s licensees. The group also focuses on implementing efficient and effective systems and processes.
Specific Duties
Operational management of assigned workload within the product development work flow, data integrity, systems, and training
- Provide guidance and field questions to/from Brand and Product Management Analysts
- Provide timely issue communication and escalation to BPM management and facilitate visibility to the status of submissions in process
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders such as Product Development, Creative Services, Business Affairs, Contract Administration, Licensees, Product Integrity and ILS to enforce defined product submission and approval processes
- Occasional to semi-regular review of high visibility/complexity products within the product development system
- Follow up on inactive submissions
- Assemble quarterly KPIs, Dashboard, and SKU matching reports for leadership
- Work with management to provide suggestions and identify potential process improvements
- Recommend systemic enhancements to support new attributes and process requirements based on day-to-day observations and needs
- Organize and pull together requested product related data to support legal, business affairs and trademark groups
Overall duties
- Provide guidance and field questions to/from Brand and Product Management Administrators
- Help resolve normal day to day issues related to product submissions, OPA and PD workflow
- Develop and maintain licensee OPA/BPM training and onboarding materials
- Develop reporting tools and dashboards to monitor team performance, throughput and KPIs
- Reporting expert and initial point of contact for stakeholder inquiries and reports
- Licensing systems expert and lead person for stakeholders to work with to develop new processes and propose system functions to meet business needs and adjusting business initiatives
- Organize data for legal discoveries and product and intellectual property inquiries
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in related field, or equivalent experience
- Work experience within the product development or consumer products industry would be considered a strong plus
