Billing Support Manager
Job Description:
The Billing Support Manager supports the Revenue Cycle Manager in overseeing daily operations of the billing department. This position plays a key role in optimizing revenue cycle processes and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and payer requirements.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the billing department.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Oversee insurance follow-up and denial management processes.
- Provide oversight to the patient refund process.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues.
- Support implementation of new billing policies, software, or regulatory changes.
- Assist with audits and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.
- Monitor claim submission workflows to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
A successful candidate will have the following qualities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing systems
- Experience in vision billing preferred
- Knowledge of credentialing processes and payer enrollment (CAQH, PECOS, NPPES) preferred
- Knowledge of payor portals (Avality, etc.)
Qualifications:
Minimum of three to five years of medical billing experience required, with at least one to two years in a lead or supervisory role. Must have familiarity with CMS guidelines, payer rules, HIPAA, and healthcare billing software (e.g., EHR/PM systems).
This position will report to the regional billing office in Louisville, KY and be regularly scheduled to work full-time Monday-Friday.
